This is a two-day advanced seminar  for clinicians fully trained in EMDR therapy  who want advanced   skills,  methods  and   materials  for  working  with  children  and   adolescents.   Successful and effective strategies are presented through games, storytelling, narrative and play therapy within the context of the EMDR 8-phase protocol.

Seminar Objectives

  • Preparing children for EMDR treatment including resourcing and affect regulation
  • Special games and methods in working with difficult children and adolescents
  • Cognitive interweaves suitable for children
  • Special attention to working with dissociative symptoms, avoidance  and resistance
  • Strategies for working with parents and caregivers
  • Conceptualizing cases within AIP model

Case reviews and video clips will provide a very tangible and concrete learning experience for participants. You will become more successful and effective in working with resistant and non-resistant children and adolescents.   You will also better relate to parents with their concerns and participation in the healing process.

Current research is limited to the application of EMDR to trauma-related disorders.
