Psychotherapy

For therapy to be successful, the primary needed componant must be client motivation to journey through unknown territory of self discovery.  And the primary responsibilitoes of the therapist is to listen, be non-judgemental, have compassion, ability to identify the core of conflictual issues, and be directive in helping the client to accomplish the task of self healing and/or self transfermation.  Also, to help the client become proactive and empowered in attaining control in their lives. To become their own "best therapist." I believe that everyone can tap into themselves and be their own healer.

I prefer using eclectic approaches/therapies in order to adapt to the client's needs (e.g. Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational Emotive, Family Systems, EMDR .   I use EMDR often when appropriate to help facilitate client focus and accelerated self healing.

As beneficial as psychology can be, it can have its limits. In my professionally and personally experience, incorporating the spiritual component of oneself  seems to contribute towards enhancing therapeutic success.   If a client chooses, I help him/her to develop/use one's own spiritual framework (and/or religion) and help them incorporate their spirituality into their therapeutic process. The following site gives various definitions and perspectives on "spirituality."
